Art -
The word “Art” is important to me because in my opinion, art is simply self expression. Being a musician, self expression is essential to living. Without being able to express, whether on the piano or by doodling, I wouldn’t be able to happily live. The Webster definition of art is, “the products of human creativity.” In general cases, this definition might work, but when really thought out you start to come up with questions like, if art is the product of human creativity than is the atom bomb art? Is democracy an art? Are gas chambers and torture centers art? All of these questions have to be asked when dealing with such a broad definition as “the products of human creativity.”
The word art can be interpreted in countless ways. That’s why the word is so hard to define with one concise sentence. There are many different types of art such as painting, music, naked women, and just creating in general. I don’t know yet what kind of sources Im going to use for this paper. With so many different audiences having so many different opinions of the word art, it’ll be hard to figure out in what way to back up my argument defining the word. The word art to me is self expression like i said earlier. If you create something of your own that represents something to you, that to me is art. SELF EXPRESSION. The expression of one’s self. In my opinion, the atom bomb is art. It took the ingenuity of scientists and creators to find the right mixture of chemicals in order to make a massive explosion, that’s creative and artful yes, but is it self expression? The topic is a bit confusing which is what i like about it. Defining “art” will make for a good essay.

I think that you make a good point with how different things might be considered art, things that aren't always peaceful. I think a lot of people consider art to be more like paintings but nothing like the atom bomb. The atom bomb was a negative thing, so it brings upon a different perspective when you say that it can be viewed as art. You might want to go further into that , because to me art is fully about opinion. Art is something that can bring out an emotion whether it is singing, dancing or even the atom bomb. The artist must connect with the viewer.
I love your word and I think it will be difficult because Art can be shown in many different ways but keep in mind that art is a something that is created and expressed from someone but how someone goes about it(showing it, using it) is very different. So like atomic bomb it is an art because its so amazing how it was made but using it to hurt others is not a way to use it and share it. Art is also making something or doing something that you're good at to benefit someone else. Good Luck!
I agreee art is a great word to write you paper on! I think that you can do many things with this paper because you are correct (in my opinion) by saying that anything people create can be art. You can bring up the art of history of science, you can look at what's in an art museum or anything. Art will make a great paper!
I like the word you chose, it can mean different things. I like the definition "production of human creativity" You can possibly put what art can mean, how people use it good job knowing there are many audiences. nice!!!
