Patriotism

Obama's definition of "true patriotism" is, speaking out on issues that are important to national security.  Obama says, patriotism..."is more than just loyalty to a place on a map."  Obama describes what patriotism is by giving not only what it means, but what it doesn't, what it implies, and other things like that.  The pictures on pages 254 and 255 imply that patritotism is NOT speaking out.  That patriotism is split up by gender or role in America.  Or that patriotism is dressing up in red, white, and blue and waving an American flag around.  While none of these are the true definition of patriotism, they are still out there trying to portray it.  My definition of patriotism is the love for one's country and willingness to sacrifice for it.  All around the world im sure there are millions of different interpretations of the word patriotism, i guess patriotism is what you believe it to be.
