My first writing experience as a college student went relatively smooth. I liked the fact that we got to choose our own article that made the whole process more enjoyable. When we were sent out to write our very first draft, I was really confused on how to organize my paper. I didnt know what was appropriate or expected as the organization, so I took a stab at it knowing that I had a meeting with my lovely professor who didnt make us come to class for a whole week. :)
After meeting with her, I realized that pointing out ethos, pathos, and logos was easier said then done. So I set off to revise this and try to incorporate more of the vocabulary that we went over in class. This for me was the hardest part of the whole paper!
I also had made an appointment for the writing center before the due date, this helped me alot to point out where all the appeals were located in my paper. I would highly recommend the writing center to anyone, even if you think you dont need help and your paper is just perfect. I bet they could find something to fix.
I also wrote my paper with the rubric and grading criteria by my side, this really helped me with making sure that everything that the paper is being graded on was included. It would have been silly for me to lose easy points that are right on the rubric that is posted on Blackboard.
After all the peer editing, the writing center appointment, and the meeting with Forsyth, I think that I have a pretty good paper, and I feel pretty confident about turning it in. However the grade will tell! :))
For the next paper, my biggest question is about the organization. It would have been very helpful to me if I knew how a Rhetorical Analysis paper should be organized.
