Patriotism

   Obama's definition of patriotism is less concrete than say a dictionary, but essentially says that it is one's love and pride of one's country. his definition can been see by the woman on page 255, she is obviously spirited and is proud to be showing off her colors. this is a great picture to go along with Obama's definition. on the other hand the Uncle Sam picture on page 254 shows an underlying and even less concrete definition than Obama's. This picture almost shows that patriotism is knowing the authority, and a "don't question your parents" attitude. This is obviously less heartwarming than Obama's definition.
   My own definition is along the same lines as Obama's definition, however i think patriotism is; taking pride in your own country, and doing what you believe is for the best of the country as a whole. Patriotism is more complex than hanging a flag or watching fireworks on the 4th, its serving your country or standing up for what you believe is right. essentially, reflecting the attitude of your country to the best of your abilities. whether that meaning protesting wrongs or simply sporting an American flag on a t-shirt, it all reflects your pride and the attitude of the USA.
