My Definition of Patriotism

Similar to what Obama thinks and the pictures I saw on pages 254-255 they both agrue that patriotism isn't the holidays like Thanksgiving and Fourth of July we celebrate. Its the love, support and sacrifice we make to help our nation move continuosly forward. Its getting involved if the government isn't doing what pleases us and not just critising it and being negative. And just like any other nation our Country isn't perfect, but because all the citizens are different and important it helps correct it and make changes if necessary. My own definition of patriotism is showing respect to our nation. Instead of recalling all its negative parts, we recognize it and do what we can to help so we can all be satisfied. Patriotism is standing and believing our Country is what we call home because it allows us so much freedom such as religion, which means so much not only to me but to many others as well.
