In my definition paper I intend to use ethos, pathos and logos to help structure my writing and get my point across. I will use research and facts about the history of the word rock and roll for logos. This will give me a chance to compare or contrast my definiton of rock and roll with that of a dictionary or database. For pathos, I am considering using sources such as videos, song lyrics or band posters. People usually respond pretty well emotionally to visual and audio works, and if I have something to support my claim emotionally, the more interested the reader may be. Finally, in order to instate authority, I will use my tone and personal experiences to make a good ethical appeal on the reader with ethos.
